What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a manual therapy that focuses on identifying the root causes of physical complaints. 'Manual' means that treatment is carried out using the hands, without the use of equipment or medication. The underlying principle is that the body possesses a strong self-healing capacity, which can be disrupted by blockages or mobility restrictions in muscles, joints, connective tissues, or organs.
Osteopaths specialize in examining the mobility and interrelation of all tissues within the body. The treatment aims to improve this mobility, thereby alleviating or eliminating complaints such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, or abdominal discomfort.

The osteopath
My name is Mick Arriëns, osteopath D.O.-MRO, and I have been active in healthcare for many years. My initial desire to help people with physical complaints led me to bioresonance and phytotherapy, where I learned how bodily processes interact and how disturbances can cause a range of issues. However, I missed the direct, hands-on approach,
something I ultimately found in osteopathy. After completing my osteopathy training, I have worked with great dedication in this rewarding field.
Before earning my D.O. diploma, Félicie Crijns and I researched the diagnosis and treatment of adhesions following cesarean section. We examined postpartum care and explored how these adhesions contribute to back, abdominal, and pelvic pain.
When osteopathy?
Sometimes the cause of a complaint is obvious: a fall, surgery, overuse, or even childbirth. But often the trigger is less clear, or symptoms have been present for some time without an apparent explanation. It’s precisely in those situations that many people turn to osteopathy.
