Baby osteopath in Haarlem
Visiting an osteopath with your baby
Babies can benefit from osteopathy. There are various situations where it is wise to have your baby checked or treated. Consider a slow or very fast delivery. A birth where tools like a vacuum pump or forceps were used. A cesarean section or a delivery where the baby's position was not optimal; such as breech or face-up. These factors can affect a baby's body and may cause complications. Even if the pregnancy and delivery went smoothly, questions may arise about your baby's body language, and you are welcome then too. The physical examination I perform focuses on the mobility of different parts of the body. Expressions of discomfort in babies, such as crying, cramps, or spitting up, can be related to movement restrictions in the body.

What can you expect?
Osteopathy offers a safe, gentle treatment for newborn babies. As a parent, you are always close by, and if your baby arrives crying, the examination is done on your lap. Once the body is examined, the treatment follows with gentle techniques. These calming mobilizing methods help reduce tension and address issues that may maintain or worsen conditions like a preferred posture, colic, or spitting up. If applicable, we also discuss topics such as nutrition and exercises.
